Village Quests Translations

mhf3.com has the full quest translations but if you need some guide and elaboration, Tigrex_stole_my_hat from neoseeker.com forums has posted a very useful quest translation for 1 star and 2 star quests. For most quests, you can easily tell if you need  to hunt a boss monster. However, gathering quests can be quite a handful as some are not straightforward.

MHP3rd Game Transfer Options

One of the first thing you might want to do before you start MHP3rd is to get yourself the MHP2ndG and MonHun Nikki: Poka Poka Ailu Mura game saves. There are no item transfer or game tickets this time round, unlike in previous games, but you get some goodies.

MHP2ndG impressions

I’ve continued my mhf2 quests here and found that there are quite a few improvements made to the game. For example, the quest score screens are now snappier. The farm experience is now better as you can use items from your box. The armor spheres get different icons now and there is also an indication if you manage to hit the timing right for the bug tree hammer minigame. The fishing area also provides the number of remaining baits as an indicator. All these makes farming between games easier. Another improvement I notice about the game is that in the kitchen, if the chief felyne is ready to give out the ticket reward for cooking, it will indicate with a yellow speech balloon. Iaido in MHF2

I never thought this was possible until I saw this youtube video. According to wikipedia, Iaido is sometimes referred to “moving zen” and this is exactly what this hunter has been able to achieve with a longsword (LS) in the video. I still think a high damage LS is required other than precise timing. (this is more difficult than the charged GreatSword (GS) strike timings as the monster is on the move) If pulled off, this is strategy is definitely very cool.

How to convert MHF gamesave to another region using sgdeemer plugin Nottool

Not too long ago, I posted about a guide from Kenshinjeff on how to convert gamesaves for MHF2 for MHP 2ndG. I tried the guide and was successful in creating a conversion from ASA MHF to USA MHF2 using sgdeemer. Currently, Kenshinjeff has changed the guide to using another plugin, Laboko: link.

I did not want to try the new method and as I still had the sgdeemer plugin and was successful before in converting using it, I decided to try recollecting the steps. After a few mistakes, I manage to convert successfully. Note that you need custom firmware for this, the sgdeemer plugin and the gamesave for the region that you want to convert to. (For e.g. my copy is a Asia MHF, to convert to my USA MHF2, I need to get a save game copy of USA MHF, you can get this from gamefaqs.com)
